Frequently Asked Questions

Will my insurance cover my session?

At this time, Crowns for Queens is only contracted with Blue Cross Blue Shield of South Carolina. We will work with you to determine what your financial responsibility will be when using your insurance.

Crowns for Queens is not contracted with any other insurance panels at this time and would be considered an out of network provider.  If you plan to seek reimbursement for your therapy sessions, you will need to contact your insurance provider to determine how your plan compensates you for out of network mental health services. At your request, we can provide a super bill, which is the document needed for reimbursement.

We accept Lyra Health employer sponsored benefit plans. If using your Lyra benefit, your sessions are covered at 100%.

Where are you located?

Crowns for Queens is based in Kershaw County. Due to Covid-19, services are being provided via a secured telehealth platform. Services can only be provided to residents of South Carolina and North Carolina. We hope to return to face-to-face sessions soon!

I’m not sure about going to therapy. Is something wrong with me?

There is a stigma associated with mental illness that leads us to look down on mental health counseling and those seeking help.  Think of an appointment with a therapist like going to a medical doctor for a physical or a yearly check-up. Counseling promotes mental wealth and if you’re seeking help, well then, you are top tier strong!

How long are therapy sessions?

Typically, the initial sessions 60-90 minutes. Follow-up sessions are typically 50-60 minutes.

I’m invested in going to therapy, but I think I want to try medication as well. Can you help with that?

Unfortunately, we do not prescribe medication. However, we are connected with many professionals in the area and will be happy to help you with a referral.
